Classy Glassy

My husband, Jonas, had the pleasure of working with Amy Rueffert at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Wa.

So the legend goes...she bought a truck load of high temperature decals (originally used in ceramics) off of ebay. She applies the decals directly to the glass and puts a coating of clear glass over them.

And I have the pleasure of hanging these lovely bananas on my dining room wall.

Color Me Badd

Last week I was whisked away to sunny Minnesota to take the FM 100 Hue Test at a major retailers headquarters. You can take it online here.

Zero is the best score that you can get and anywhere between zero and 16 is a superior rank. I am happy to tell you that I ranked superior!

So I thought it would be nice bring you some really beautiful color studies.
Craig Kanarick has a bunch of really lovely digital prints on sale at Rock Made.

Australia is for Lovers (or lovelys)

Australia is really coming onto the textile scene full force. With hand made small run screened prints they are putting themselves on the design map. Lara Camron is no exception. Her one and two color prints are lovely and simple.Make sure you stop by Kirin Notebook Lara's textile blog. She highlights the ins and outs of being an artist.

Go West

Julie West is one of my favorite illustrators. She has such beautiful lines. I got a chance to see a few of her paintings at Blue Bottle gallery in Seattle. And I'm happy to report she paints all those lovely little lines by hand.

She has some really lovely analogous and complementary color schemes.

Vote Y'all

I hope everyone voted today!!
Just in case you needed to right a few notes about the election Hello World Press has printed this adorable little bipartisan notebook.

A beautifully designed poster with a quote from Elizabeth Cady Stanton from Anagram Press.

They listed this little fun fact paragraph below the picture of the poster on their shop website:

Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902) spent her life in pursuit of women's rights. She wrote many speeches delivered by Susan B. Anthony, who said Stanton "forged the thunderbolts" that she delivered as they worked together for women's suffrage. Stanton raised seven children and organized the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls, NY in 1848 but died without ever casting her vote before the 19th Amendment passed in 1920.

Although the picture above is super fuzzy I could not pass it up. It's a tee shirt from Elloh displaying U.S. Presidential facial hair. With an honorable mention to Van Buren on the back.

And of course, Jonathan Adler did it again. He dressed up his donkey and elephant banks for the occasion.
