The Stitch Witch: Naomi Ryder

Naomi Ryder has some beautifully stitched illustrations. A little reminiscent of Egon Schiele. She leaves the ends of the strings hanging to give the feeling of quick little sketches that have just been plucked from an old sketchbook. So feminine and lovey.

All I want for Christmas is a Moleskine

As I was researching the name of the publishing company of ABC3D by Marion Bataille to give to a friend, I came across a super cool video of someone flipping the pages. Absolutely lovely.

But, as it goes on Thee Olde Interweb, I got led over to some other really lovely videos. Different artists filled up their Moleskine sketchbooks and someone filmed a flip through.

Really inspiring. Considering that "fill a sketchbook" is number 19 on my 101 in 1001 list. If you haven't made a 101-things-to-do-in-1001-days list yet get started here. It seems remanicient of Miranda July's Learning to Love You More.

Post-Postmodern Post

Despite having one of the worst names of an art movement ever (second only to Dadaism), this post is not about the Post-postmodern movement. Or maybe it is. If Post-post modernism is based on sincerity, I think she's got it all right! Especially with these.

Along with earrings, Amber Zezeck over at Brookadelphia has a really sweet line of necklaces.

So eat your Post-postmodernist heart out Morgan Spurlock.
or...
Why don't you supersize this Morgan Spurlock.
or...
Smooch Brookadelphia's Post-postmodernist butt Morgan Spurlock.

When did this become a Post-postmodernist competition? Aaacckk, they have to come up with a new name.

Loving the Macabre and ABBA

As you may or may not know I am a big fan of the macabre. Death, dying and the dead to name a few. All that is scary, really. So, as it goes, I love carnivorous plants.

This girl, who is nameless, made a calender full of them.

This is what I know of her:
-she has a sweet blog
-makes awesome prints
-Bay Area, CA /Phoenix, AZ based
-likes cats and ABBA

She made a repeat pattern of ABBA! Who does that?

Kime Buzzelli

Ummmm...what?

These are some of the most awesome illustrations that I've seen in a long, long while.

Kime Buzzelli is an LA based "painter-clothing maker, shop owner". You can find her over at her very own blog, The Moldy Doily.

Get Clean

Without moving too far out of the world of design and too far into the world of novelty I thought I'd bring you this lovely shower curtain.

This post is inspired by Jeremy Fish's Skulls and Bunnys shower curtain from Upper Playground available at Design Public for $45.
