Finally my Lovelys!!! A new muse! Sometimes you just need a nice long lovely break...and when it's time to come back you know it because you stumble upon Lisa Corbett's blog. Then you sing and dance and start to draw again...thank God.
Pencils, pens, black and white...i don't care...she's just amazing.

Matt Hoyle
All work and no play makes Annie a dull blogger! Busy, busy, busy...I guess that's good though, huh?
While I was catching up on some of my favorite blogs this weekend I came across a post on Drawn! Which is a lovely blog featuring some really lovely illustration and animation from past and present. It's not a photo blog, this is not a photo blog but Matt Hoyle is such a great representation of "inspiration from all sources" that I had to post his Barnumville series too.
As you all ready know I'm a fan of all that's creepy. So when it comes to sideshow stuff I'm on that raft. What amazing images he has. It's funny how simple portraits can become so stunning when you have both great content and a great photographer.

Bueller...Bueller... Andrews
Okay, so I know that my titles are always a bit obscure. I like to think that you guys are quite clever and can figure out my puzzles. So here it goes...
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who dated John John Jesse...who was...in a show with...Esao Andrews last night. Get it?
Anyhow, with an ever updated website and semi-new blog, how can you resist the allure of such an amazing picture maker. Esao Andrews' characters, subject matter and comic roots have lead him into such a fascinating style. Here are a few pieces to keep you clever my lovelys.
This final drawing spawned the inspiration for my entire BFA. Thanks for helping me graduate Esao!
And BTW, my friend Christina actually did date John John Jesse.

IIe de Porquerolles, Argeles sur Mer, St. Tropez, Lake Erie
A short visit to cozy, snowy Cleveland over Valintines Day left me dreaming of southern France. NYC is sucking my soul right out of my body (like I did to those poor candied oysters at Luxe). Thanks for being my Valentine Brittany!!
Upon my return home I thought I'd start looking to take a long visit to Ile de Porquerolles or maybe St. Tropez. Mmmmmmm....sunshine... So here are a few essentials that I found at Fred Flare for a month of reading and doing crossword puzzles at the beach. Hopefully both in English because I do not speak French my Lovelys.
Let's start at the top. This cute little hat might suit me better in Cuba but everyone needs a little shade. And what's that saying? *When in France, do as the Cubans* $24
Zebra print sunspecs. Black on white or white on black, you choose. I could set aside my regulars for these! $11
Ahhhh.... a sundress to go over my swimsuit. I'm a fair skinned burner and the older I get the more important it is for me to cover up. Oh, who am I kidding... I would love a sunburn right now. $64
And if being barefoot on a (rocky)beach in France doesn't do it for you these strappy, metallic, snakeskin sandals will. $28
Adieu!

Audrey Kawasak-it-to-me
Phew... Sorry for the little hiatus. I guess I just needed a week off. But I'm back and the new year is here my dear friends. Back to work, back to school, back to black!
I know everyone is already up in Audry Kawasaki's biz but wowie zowie. Her paintings and drawings are always so beautifully rendered with this soft, pretty, girly feeling. And always with a twinge of eerie.

Of the Young & the Restless
Two longtime friends, Pearce Williams and Courtney Landholt, own this extremely aesthetic textile business. The majority of their designs are hand painted then hand printed.
I can't say enough about the palette for this collection. The colors are right on and fresh. (Black, white, coral, yellow, light blue)
Even with the strange name Of the Young & the Restless, ( yes, it starts with a preposition) they do not fail to deliver.
They have some really pretty Victorian looking birds in two different colorways in this collection as well. But because I am anti-bird I cannot post them.
The coral shells remind you of any one? Namely... Ellie Curtis?
